We have received a further article published in De Hond magazine in Holland in 1930 which includes a commentary and a beautiful head study of Longina of Liang Tsjeoe which is shown above.

We are working on a formal translation of the Dutch original, but in the interim, we'll summarize the narrative in the article - Basically the article quotes the Rev Bush (UK) and one of his writings in a British Encylopaedia about the origins of the breed, where they come from, describes the coat, their various colours etc. We're familiar with this work and have referenced it elsewhere on the site. Bush mentions Zardin, and his owner Mr Barff, that Zardin originated in Afghanistan, was then imported to India and then eventually to England etc. A new snippet of information in this article - quoting Rev Bush says that Zardin after he was exported to India became lost for a while, but no details are provided. The likely source for this information is Mrs Barff who wrote about Zardin in English stock/game/field sports magazines and told Zardin's story in those publications. Rev Bush used these articles as a source for his writings on the subject

We'll update this page shortly when we have a formal translation of the Dutch into English.
