Interestingly, Mrs Porter was one of the catalog advertisers for the first Specialty held by the Mid-West Afghan Hound Club on October 9, 1938, at which time she bought Ch Mounha Of Kuhsan, an import (UK), from Mr R W Sampson (Kuhsan, USA), after Mounha earned her championship title: to breed her to Ch Nillyo Of Prides Hill.

Ed Note: Mounha was originally registered as "Andara Of Cheltside" in the UK and was bred by Mrs L Prude (Cheltside) . Her name was changed to Mouna and she was transferred to messrs Morris/;Ritchie who then sold her to R W Sampson's Kuhsan Kennel in 1937. Mouhna was exported to the USA in whelp to UK Ch Garrymhor Yhengis Khan and that litter whelped in 12/8/1937. Sampson later sold Mouhna to Mrs Porter of Kingway in 1938

Little sub-story on Mouhna Of Kuhsan. She previously produced a litter in England in May 1937 sired by a Pushtikuh dog, before she was sold to R W Sampson. She produced her first American litter in December 1937 sired by Garrymhor Yenghiz Khan who was also exported from the UK to the USA. So by the time (Oct 1938) Mrs Porter acquired Mouhna she had proved herself as a Dam. Mrs Porter mated Mouhna to her Ch Niliyo Of Prides Hill which produced the litter below

That litter, whelped on August 25, 1939, produced seven puppies - four dogs and three bitches.
Dur-i-Daurin of Kingway, a cream dog (#A367575)
Fath Khan Of Kingway, a black dog (#A367567)
Hamdi Of Kingway a black masked red dog (#A367577)
Thofar Of Kingway, a black and tan bitch (#A567572)
Timor of Kingway a cream dog (#A367574)
Ch Uly Hazrat Of Kingway, a black masked re bitch (#A367571)
Zavd of Kingway, a black bitch (#A367573)

In May 4, 1939 a litter of three was born from a mating of Ch Nilyo Of Prides Hill ex Suriyeh Of Prides Hill which produced Ch Laila Of Kingway, a golden bitch (a#A387944), a fawn dog, Omar Of Kingway (#A387943) and a cream dog Shah Ali Of Kingway (#A387942)

Then Mrs Porter acquired Khyra Of Kingway, a black bitch (#A422794) which came from a breeding by Laurence Peters of Tazi Of Beg Tute ex Saki Of Paghman, both imported by Peters.

Another seven litters were registered during the early 1940's after which apparently all breeding activities ceased. Starting with a litter whelped on March 3, 1941, there's a litter of four out of Khade of Kingway ex Suriyeh of Prides Hill, which were listed as Firdausi Of Kingway, a b/m red male (#A505207), A b/m red bitch Mandha of Kingway (#A505208), Souriyeh Of Kingway, a fawn bitch (#A505209) and a b/m red male Tazi Of Kingway (#A505206)

On June 23, 1941, Westmill Razuran and Ch Laila of Kingway produced eight puppies:

Afzid Khan Of Kingway (#A528022) Gold
Alsmar Of Kingway (#A528023) Black
Ben Havid Of Kingway (#A528024) Black and tan
Jakhundnis of Kingway (#A747647) Black and gray ********see note below
Jamila Of Kingway (#A528018) Gold
Naziha Of Kingway (#A528019) Fawn
Razura Of Kingway (#A528020) Red Black mask
Sharazad Of Kingway (#A528021) Red Black mask

******Ed Note. Ms Goodman's reference to Jakhundnis of Kingway in the above litter is an error. Look at Jakhundnis' AKC registration numbers in the 700k range whereas the rest of litter is in the 500k range, that's what gave us the clue. So we referenced the AKC stud book and find the correct details -

Afghan Hound Times AKC Reg for Jakhundnis of Kingway

The date of birth for the above litter is 6/23/1941 if you study the AKC registration for Jakhundnis of Kingway his date of birth is 6/28/1941. Possibly Ms Goodman misread the "8" as a "3"? and inadvertently included Jakhundnis in the wrong litter? The AKC registration for Jakhundnis of Kingway shows different parntage to the above litter, and as this dog is significant we'll move forward with him for the moment..

Ed Note: (Registration number sequences are not absolute evidence. If the breeder didn't register an individual offspring at the time they registered the litter, and then they register the missing offspring sometime later, they will get a different sequence number. If the registration for a missing littermate occured a few years later then the sequence number could be considerably different. So mis-maching sequence numbers merely gives us a trigger to double check our info, but mis-matching registration number sequences per se may be correct and normal. Plus, things changed with the AKC stud book. I believe in the early days all dogs registered automatically were entered into the stud book. Later, AKC changed this and dogs/bitches only got entered in the AKC stud book after they had produced offspring
