The Kingway Kennels, owned by Mrs William Porter of Denver, Colorado, started in 1933 with a couple of imports, Ahmad Shah Durani Of Kingway, her first Af, a cream dog bred by Edward E Abrams out of Kush De Flandre (Import, UK) born November 2, 1932. This ws followed shortly with acquisition of Suriyeh Of Prides Hill (#9634469) a fawn bitch whelped October 1, 1933, bred by Q A Shaw McKean out of Westmill Omar (import, UK) and Azra Of Ghazni (Import, UK) and Ch Nillyo Of Prides Hill (#981272) a beige dog also bred by Q A Shaw McKean out of Ch Badshah Of Ainsdart (Import, UK) and Azra Of Ghazni (Import, UK) .

AHT Note: (The name "Abram" is synonimous with Reigh and Dewey Abram who owned the Dureigh Afghan Hound Kennels in the USA. To avoid confusion over the name Abrams (De Flandre, USA), we should note that Edward E Abrams mentioned above, is not the same Abrams associated with Dureigh).
AHT Note: (The De Flandre UK kennels was owned by Mrs M B Cooper in England who was an active breeder 1926-1928. Mrs Cooper started her breeding program by mating Ghazni Dogs with Bell Murray bitches. Towards the end of her breeding, and after several blended litters, Mrs Cooper appears to have changed her breeding prefernece to mating Ghazni Dogs to Ghazni Bitches). Despite Mrs Coopers early entry into Afghan Hound breeding and exportation of her stock to the USA there are no De Flandre Afghans in the pedigree history for either the UK or USA.

Nillyo and Suriyeh of Prides Hill got Mrs Porter's breeding program underway with the first litter whelped on January 2, 1936 (Ch Nillyo of Prides Hill x Suriyeh Of Prides Hill) producing a litter of four bitches and two dogs. Dhairan Of Kingway, a red bitch #A58801, El Meleelah Of Kingway, a cream bitch (#A58799), Roxana Of Kingway, a red bitch (#A58802), a cream dog Sher Ali Khan Of Kingway (#A58798) and a red dog Yakub Khan Of Kingway (#A58797).
On September 13, 1938, Tazi Of Beg Tute (Import, Afghanistan) and Narjis Of Kingway produced a black masked red dog, Khadee of Kingway (#A291141)
Interestingly, Mrs Porter was one of the catalog advertisers for the first Specialty held by the Mid-West Afghan Hound Club on October 9, 1938, at which time she bought Ch Mounha Of Kuhasn, an import, from Mr R W Sampson, after Mounha earned her championship title: to breed her to Ch Nillyo Of Prides Hill
