Ch Tully's Big John

Dog World Afghan Hound Cover 1970
The thrill of seeing a beautiful Afghan is still the motivation that has kept Betsey and Allen Tully breeding, raising and showing the most beautiful breed of dogs. Whether you prefer the breathtaking beauty of the gorgeous-coated Best In Show Ch Tully's Big John, or the majestic pride of Best In Speciality Ch Continental Blue Falcon, a trip to the Tully Kennels is always interesting. On the two acre grounds, fenced into a series of larged wooded yards, you are liable to be rushed by a "herd" of galloping, cavorting puppies - blues, brindles, dominoes, blacks, creams, apricots, all play, run and enjoy every working minute that their rapid growth allows them, then collapse into sleep in a conglomeration of puppy-legs and ring-tails.

Offspring of both these top studs are being shown (largely by their owners) and wining all over the United States. One of John's first puppies South American Ch Tully's Go Big Rhed, has won many Groups and several BIS in Columbia. He has appeared on the cover of their "Dog World" magazine and is owned by Betty Peurta of Medein, Columbia. who also recently bought a light blue bitch of the thype for which Falcoln is becoming well-known.

Falcon's get is doing well, too. A young elegant black-and-tan son, Ch Continental Mazarra Mr Zorro, recently finished championship, owner-handled by Lyn Smith. Falcoln's own show career is now over, he has too much fun ranging the Tully's grounds to keep in coat. John, now exclusively owner-handled by Mrs Tully, hits the circuit occasionally to remind the judges that Afghan elegance is not always measured by the pound, inch or courseness. Hope for the future is held in the gorgeous offspring both males and bitches, which the Tullys will soon introduce to the showring.

The Tullys complete dog nots, also own and show Toy and miniature poodles and Scottish Terriers with champions in both breeds. They are usually at home and happy to see and talk to others interested in their breeds.
