Our Afghans Magazine 1976 These photographs were taken by John Lloyd on his visit with the King Of Afghanistan in 1975 and were published in Our Afghans magazine in 1976 (I (Steve) will have to dig out the original OA article and add to this page. For now, my thanks to Iola Caird for posting these photo's and notes 1975 visit by John Lloyd to former king of Afghanistan's knls - Photo 1 and 2 is of a 15 yrs old bitch - her coat was like the dog,very matted. Then a headstudy of her, he stated she had the most amazing large, white teeth & scissor bite. They paired off an oldie with a young dog to retain interest and prolong life hence predicted this bitch would continue to hunt for herself and exercise for another 3 yrs. (OA'76)
Photos 3 and 4 are of a 7 yrs old male and then a headstudy - showing some wonderful veining. Coat is a matted/mess. (OA'76)
In 1975 John Lloyd was able to visit and see these two remaining afghan hounds who were from the exiled King of Afghanistan's kennels -Photo 5 - on the left is a 15 yr old bitch and on the right 7 yr old dog pic with the kennel master.
