Sheba was eventually transferred on to Mrs E E Drinkwater (Geoufron) Garrymhor Souriya) (b) Breeder Miss Simmons (Bericote) 7-13-1931 Roshanara el Kabul (b) Breeder Dr Betsy Porter (el Kabul) 19-9-1933 Garrymhor Dhiraj (b) and Garrymhor Zahir (b) , Breeder Mrs E M Hillcoat, (11-07-1935) 8.2 Afghan hounds bred by Mrs Couper It struck this writer that Mrs Couper had bought in a total of six bitches by the middle of 1935, no dogs? Mrs Couper bred her first litter which whelped 23 March, 1935. Mrs Couper didn't acquire the last two of her five bitches until after this date, so prior to this litter, Mrs Couper had a choice of 4 bitches to use (Kim, Sheba, Souriya or Roshanara), plus of course, having no Afghan dog in the kennel she had to choose an outside stud. She chose Souriya as the dam and Ardmor Anthony as the sire.
