We received the photo on the left from Jess Brett Booth. Look very carefully at that photo and in the darkness of the background you can see Sunny Shay. We cut out that portion of the photo and enhanced it as best we could and pasted that cut out alongside the oriiginal to produce the above dual image
We involved a couple of Grandeur knowledgeable people in our quest for the name, we were thinking it might be Turkuman Nissims Laurell, but our more knowledgeable friends thought not. They said not TNL because no sign of white on the feet with Laurel was known to have. Sunny did show a lot of his kids though, and looking at that picture again - we think it is a bitch - look how high above the head her hand is - and Sunny was NOT a tall lady! 5ft 4 or there abouts.She did show a black bitch called Ch Djinn of Grandeur. Owned by a woman in NY. early-mid 50s. There was an ad for her in the 1956 Popular Dogs breed feature, which had owner's name and address. None of us (4 brains at this) think this is Turkuman Nissims Laurel. Ch Djinn of Grandeur seems a reasonable guess because Djinn was sired by - - Turkuman Nissims Laurel/ Djin nwas born 04/25/1952, and her color was black, like the Afghan in the photograph.
