Having retired from the showring Mrs Skelton-Fortune's policy of breeding through the distaff line continued. Rosemary, who in turn was a daughter of Wildrose, was bred from her second litter to Star Appeal. Mrs Skelton-Fortune kept a bitch, Ty-Folly of Daxlore who in turn was bred to her father. Belle-Memoire of Daxlore, a daughter of Starbelle was bred to Ty-Gold of Daxlore, a brother to Ty-Folly and from this litter she kept Daxlore Ty-Lark. In 1986 she repeated the mating and this produced the last litter of Salukis bred by Mrs Skelton-Fortune.

Throughout all her years of breeding Salukis Mrs Skelton-Fortune always considered soundness of limb and temperr ament to be very important. "They are hounds, and if a hunting dog is not sound it cannot hunt. I also think that if they are not sound, they should not be shown". END.
