People often forget that imported dogs came from places where Rabies was endemic and the importers may have unwittingly imported a rabid dog. Mary Amps (Ghazni) suffered from Rabies resultant from one of her visits to Afghanistan/India and despite having been given the then "new" Pasteur treatment, she apparently had health problems for a long time after. The press cutting mentions Afghan hounds, but it would probably be more accurate to have stated Afghan dogs, all breeds of which were vulnerable to the endemic rabies. I don't think I have much confidence in the remedy mentioned in this article, given the choice, I would go for the Pasteur treatement.. Whats New Page |
