Robert Douglas and Dorothy Hyson, and Afghan hound 1935 
Lyall found the above photo published in in April 1935 in "The Sketch" , A London Magazine. The caption states "Mr Robert Douglas and Mrs Douglas (Dorothy Hyson) are seen here taking the portrait of their lovely Afghan hound". This may be a staged press photo and the Afghan may be a prop for the photo shoot. We find no record that Mr Douglas, or Mrs Douglas (Dorothy Hyson) ever actually owned an Afghan hound. In the absence of further information we are unable to identify the hound at this time.
Mr, Mrs Douglas were famous and popular stage actors in ther 1930's Mr Douglas was also a manager who managed other actors careers. Mr Douglas was understudy for Laurence Olivier (now Sir Laurence) and took over Sir Laurence's role in the Lyric Theatre, London for most of the 1934 season. The Douglas's became engaged in December 1934, and married in London in May 1935. The reception for the wedding was held at Sir Laurence's home in Cheyne Walk, a fashionable and expensive area in west London.

Shortly after their marriage the Douglas's travelled to New York, USA as joint leads in a play on Broadway. Shortly after their return to England the Douglas's travelled to Switzerland where Mr Douglas was making a film, which was staged on and around the Matterhorn mountain
After the filming in Switzerland they returned to England to continue their theatre/acting careers. If further information becomes available that enables us to identify the hound we will update this brief article.
