We recently found a 1927 photograph of a UK
bred Bell Murray Afghan hound that was originally exported to the east coast of the USA then, later re-exported to Peru. It is unlikely that
that this Bell Murray hound contributes to the pedigree history in Peru. However, it is our first and earliest connection with Peru and will serve as a
trigger for this starter page. If any readers have information about breed history in Peru we would be most grateful to hear form you. Below is a
newspaper archive from July 1928 that alerted us to the Afghan hound import to Peru in 1928

As soon as we read the reference to a "Swedish Cinema Star", we knew who that was, and therefore who the Afghan hound must be. So, we searched our archives and found a photograph of this Swedish Cinema Star with her Afghan hound, see photo and pedigree below

Note by Lyall Payne - Kasi was two weeks off a year old in the above photograph. But Kasi was not one of the original Bell Murray (Cove) imports to the USA. Miss Manson arrived in the US on the 22 June 1926. Kasi of Cove was born 4 June same year (so Miss Manson had 3 week old puppies at home when she travelled to the USA).
From that June 4 1926 litter, Begum, a bitch, went to Hans Jungeling in the Netherlands, and a dog Raja Secundus of Cove went to Mrs Liese-Terstel, also in the Netherlands.
Kasi Of Cove was entered at the Westminster Kennel Club show at Madison Square Garden in February 1928 by the original owner Sigrid Holmquist, see link below
